Mountain Cycle Slix?
Looking for a review of the Mountain Cycle Slix full suspension bike. Can't find anything online, has anybody heard of or have any experience with this bike? Thanks in advance for any input.

What kind of riding do you like? That would help some of us to help you get some input...

Light XC. I'd prefer a good climbing bike and want the full suspension to soften up for the downhill. No major jumps or drops, just want a smoother ride than a hardtail.
After I posted this, I was able to find a short review through Google. It says that the bike is not a good climber. Anyone else with this experience.

You might look at getting a used Turner 02 or a new Burner. Sounds like a good match for your needs. And of course... TURNERs are nice and Supergo has some decent prices on framesets.

Turner's are great, but out of the budget. Hoping to find something around $600 or less for a frame.
Considering the Weyless, I know, it's Supergo made. But it's for my wife. She doesn't ride anything extreme, but she does have a bad back, so the hardtail is beating her up. Just looking for a full suspension bike that climbs well and provide some cushion on the rocky stuff.

She's 5'3". So I guess that would be a small frame? Perhaps a medium if it's a Juliana?

If you're considering the weyless, you should look at this.

                http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product.aspx?i=FR606B00

Way cheaper. Maybe pick up an air shock to shed some weight, and you'll come in cheaper than the weyless, still. Not bad looking, either.

                  Nice. Good price too.
OE product though. Should I be concern that someone installed the headset or bottom bracket incorrectly and strip some threads?
Found it for $549.99 complete. Good price I think, considering the frame is already $279. What do you all think?

I wouldn't worry about the threads being bad, they don't want to sell you something that's going to be a problem for them.

Tough call about buying the full bike, it's gonna be very heavy with all that crappy stuff hanging on it. How were your planning on building up the SLX? The last thing a 5'3" woman needs is to have to pedal a bike strong enough for a big guy.

Yeah, I think the full bike is about 30.5 lbs. If I can get the bike in at 28 lbs, that's acceptable. Her current hardtail is a bit under 26 lbs.
                      Hm, I better rethink this.

Hey - sorry, but my friends Juliana is a large....

Probably too big for your girl.

If I see anything else, I'll try to let you know...

I'd be surprised if it weighed 30.5, that's not too porky. Get the frame, switch the coilover for an air shock (find out what size it is and let me know, I might have one for you cheap), build it up using her old parts. It'll probably weigh under 30. When you can afford to, begin switching out her stuff for lighter parts. Stuff that spins should be looked at first, light wheels are the first switch.

30.5 lbs was the advertised weight, so the actual weight may be higher.
Someone just referred me to an Azonic Propulsion frame on sale for $600. Not many reviews on it, but from the few I read, they all liked it. So I'm probably going with this.

If that is the advertised weight, it might be right. And actually, they usually weigh a medium so the small size could be lighter.

The propulsion is nice and a good buy at that price, but is the small-small enough? It's a 16.5... for someone 5'3" in a FS, you should get something smaller.

The Mountain Cycle "Slix" are re-vamped "Moho" models. Somewhat knocked up with slightly more travel than the original "Moho" which had like an inch of travel back in 1999.

The SLX has I think, 3-1/2" travel via some crap.y RockShox or old Fox Float..... I'd ebay that shock and get a Fox Pro Pedal Float to make that SLX even better climber than the reviewers claimed
Look up Moho @ Mtbr.com, there are a few who reviewed their Moho "SLX" or Slix, NOT the CXS.

The team competed at a Continental level in 2012 but is now ready to step up to the Pro Continental stage and to push to race against the sportís top teams in some events.http://www.zorromall.com/Bicycle-More/Bicycle-Wheelsets-Rims/View-all-products.html#.UMGi82fFjTk
