Night riding..
How many of you ride solo on night rides ? Do you feel safe or do you get scared like me..? I want to buy a 2nd light for my bike and I wonder if it will make me feel less fearfull.

Thanks, Rich

In order to feel safe, you need 4 Niterider Blowtorches. One on the h/bar(pointed forward) and three on your seatpost(pointing left, right, and back).

Solo night rides (esp. on moonless nights) are always charged with some kind of trepidation and fear. That's what makes them such fun. Make sure you have a regular route that you never diverge from and that someone knows when you'll be back and by what time (I usually kick an extra hour in for flats, trail conversations, etc).

You don't mention what lights you have or where they're mounted. You just about have to have two lights. One on the bars and one on the helmet. I've got a Niterider Digital Headtrip that's a spotlight on the helmet and a new Niterider Blowtorch on the bars. The helmet light helps to point where the bars necessarily aren't. Ravines and turns are good examples. Hope this helps.

I do it all the time. Once I figured out two things, solo nightriding hasn't caused me any more fear than I have just trying to balance on my bike during daylight:

    --the booogie man isn't out there;

--raw pork isn't the best snack for jersey pockets.

I use my bear bell at night, especially on the downhill. It will alert any deer to your approach (I've had quite a few close calls at night) and I like to tell myself that it scares the mountain lions too.

You know that mountain lions call those "dinner bells," right?

It's true. My sis who works at a zoo told me.

All the time. Follow some rules though:

    1) Pack a gun.

    2) Carry no cash.

    3) Don't hoot and holler.

    4) Don't ride in the Antelope Valley.

I've ridden at night by myself a few times, and it scared the crap out of me. :) The adrenaline rush is kind of cool, though. Haha. I kept imagining a cougar running up the trail behind me.

Night riding is a rush. Yea, I get a little nervous at times, but the rush is cool. I don't expect I'll see or even hear the lion that sneaks up behind me, if and when it does, but hey, ya wanna live forever? Better to face your fears than let them paralyze you.

I like the helmet mounted light to look for eye shine at night, but then, like I said, the lion is probably coming up behind me.

Just keep the life insurance paid up for the wife.

This new message board is looking good with nice features present in it which makes the user really comfortable while posting or reply to comments present in the board. I have first seen this of message board in custom essay writers service site which has the same type to post queries in it.
