    Alright folks, don't laugh at this one, but it really is a fun and fast little training loop in the Yucaipa area. I wouldn't recommend driving out of your way for it, but if you live in the area, it's a fast little workout.

    Alright, here we go. First, Take the 10 freeway towards Yucaipa, exit Yucaipa Blvd and travel East. Park at the City Hall lot which is located at 5th St/Yucaipa Blvd. The Sheriff's station is there and it is the safest lot. Unload and get on your bikes. Ride East, up Yucaipa blvd all the way up to Douglas St. Here you will get off the pavement for an excellant, thigh-burning hill climb at Flaghill Park. You will still be running parallel to Yucaipa Blvd, just up the big dirt hill towards the flag-pole. Once you summit, ride through the park( still parallel w/ Yuc Blvd) and you will see Grandview Street. Keep going East up Grandview to a large abandoned reservoir on your left. Go through the open gate and towards the BMX jumps (you can't miss them). Take the dirt road that raps around

    • Trail UpdateYucaipa Training Loop-I live and ride in Yucaipa and have been on this trail many, many times, when two weeks ago I was suprised to find that the last part of this trail is closed. There are gates and NO TRESPASSING signs at both ends of the "Wash" between Pendelton and Bryant. I don't know why, because i know many people who use that area for horseback riding, walking and mtn biking.

      I have another solution for you if you decide to take this trail and find this section closed. Keep going on Pendelton. It curves up and around to Oak Glen Rd. Go left at Oak Glen Rd. and take it to Fremont. Go right on Freemont and take it as far as you can go (about 1.5 miles) to Carter. Turn left on Carter and it's a long downhill to Bryant. Turn left on Bryant and head back towards town. When you get to Oak Glen Road (it's the first stop light) turn right and head downhill again towards Yucaipa Regional Park. After passing the Park on your right it will curve around to the left a few times and take you to 5th St. Turn left on 5th and you'll ride by the new Golf Course and right to City Hall.

      There are no off-road sections on this part but it's a great workout if you live in the area and need somewhere close to ride.

    • Trail UpdateYucaipa Training Loop-the jumps and heads back towards the water tower. You will see the trail split. The trail on the left is for the advanced rider, and the trail on the right is for intermediate/beginners. Both will join back together at Panorama Drive. Take a right on Panorama and do a little "roadie" riding (app. 1 mile). Panorama drops downtowards a wash area, and you will see water flowing over the road. Cross the water, and you will see the trail entrance immediately on your left. Take this trail down through the wash, but be careful. The trail just BEGS for you to go fast, but a few soft-sand patches and jutting rocks will quickly make you slow down. You will come to 3 forks in the trail. Go to the right on the first 2 and the left on the last 1. You will do a fun, steep water crossing. This is a good spot to practice your crossings. Continue on the trail all the way down to Bryant street. If you take a left on Bryant, you will go back towards Yucaipa Blvd where you will take a right, and back to your car. If you take a right on Bryant, go to Oak Glen Road and make a left. Take this all the way down to Yucaipa Blvd and make a left. There is a good thigh-burning dirt trail that runs along the Blvd up a fairly steep hill. You will then come back to your car. If you go left on Bryant, the ride is app. 10 miles takes app. 30-40 minutes. If you take a right on Bryant, it is app. 15 miles and takes app. 1 hour. While in the wash area, you are trying to stay in the center of the wash. If the trail you took takes you up the side and out of the wash, GO BACK! This is a fun, fast training loop and is great for night riding. Havefun, be safe!
